Josie
The air smells of salt and old fish, pretty much the smell of every working waterfront in the Pacific Northwest. I’m thirty yards away, lying flat on my belly in wet pine scrub, photographing a boat that does not belong here.
I’ve got my long lens on, flash off, a microfiber cloth draped over the body so as not to catch a stray beam of light that might come my way.
I’m on an elevated bluff and below me is the dock. It’s a single-vessel slip, about sixty feet of weathered planking running out into the channel. According to the property records, it’s been owned by the same fishing family for ninety years, but the owners are in Arizona for the off-season. The dock has been unattended since they left, and BOB hypothesized that it had a high probability of seeing action. He flagged it late yesterday afternoon and I double-checked the data. The pattern was too clean to be coincidence and too small to be anything else.
Good ol’ BOB. He’s the artificial intelligence system created by brains smarter than me at Jameson Force Seattle and is my main partner within the company. The B-O-B doesn’t stand for anything in particular. It’s more of an easy, affectionate human name. He runs predictive analysis across whatever data points I feed him, and he’s very good at noticing things that I might not.
As the company’s lead intelligence specialist, it was a tough pill to swallow that I simply couldn’t be the smartest, but now we’re good friends. I implicitly trusted him when he told me this desolate fishing dock near Anacortes on Fidalgo Island might be a prime spot for human traffickers to off-load women smuggled in from Canada.
The FBI brought Jameson onto this case six weeks ago. They’ve been working a maritime trafficking pipeline for the better part of a year. The women—mostly Eastern European and Southeast Asian—are brought into Canada and then moved through Vancouver into the Salish Sea. From there, it’s easy enough to avoid the maritime authorities and off-load them at any number of abandoned docks like this one, where they’ll be distributed into the American economy.
Why would the FBI hire a private security consulting firm?
Mainly because we have bigger and better toys, the least of which is BOB.
I put my eye back up to the camera and snap off a flurry of photos—three men in dark jackets with knit caps on their heads for warmth. They’re illuminated by a single light attached to the top of a pole halfway out on the dock, but it’s not good enough for me to identify any distinguishing characteristics. One of them smokes a cigarette, and once in a while, the smell wafts up my way.
Then I hear it… an engine. Out of the black night, a forty-foot boat with a black hull and no running lights appears. The engine cuts and the boat drifts in slowly. Whoever’s at the helm has done this before, but in my research of maritime smuggling, I learned that these are some of the most accomplished boat captains around.
The temperature dropped after sundown and my fingers are stiff from the cold. I want to roll and stretch my back, but I don’t dare move. Surveillance is a discipline of not moving, and I’m very good at it.
The boat reaches the dock and two men come down from the small wheelhouse while one of the men on the dock ties off the bow line. Someone says something, mumbled words I can’t make out, and another man laughs.
Then they start unloading.
Even though I suspected it, and even though I hoped beyond hope I’d find some sort of evidence tonight, I truly didn’t think I’d see the women.
The first one is hauled up from below, her wrists cuffed and a man’s hand at the back of her neck. Then another one behind her. Then another. Six total, and my stomach churns with nausea.
I’ve got my gun on me. I could take them by surprise and free the women, but I’m outmanned five to one.
I snap off a few pictures and slowly ease up to my knees. I need to make it back to my vehicle so I can follow them. Yes, that’s what I’ll do, and then I’ll call our FBI liaison and they’ll swarm.
The case will be solved and I’ll be a hero.
The professional part of my brain—the part my father trained from the time I was eight years old, the part the NSA refined and then Jameson sharpened—does what it’s supposed to do.
Frame. Focus. Document.
Don’t panic.
I quietly move from my knees to a squatted position, ready to low-walk my way out of here without being seen.
For a moment, it occurs to me that I might get in trouble with our intrepid leader, Malik Fournier, over this. I was supposed to be here with one of the other agents, Reid Calder, but he got called in to support another mission and I was told to table this surveillance for later in the week. I’m directly disobeying Malik’s orders, so even if I’m successful in rescuing these women, I’ll be in trouble.
I put that out of my mind because it’s irrelevant to worry about now. The bottom line, BOB said there was a likelihood of this going down tonight, so I had to come. The next data point that lets us reconstruct this opportunity might be six months out.
That’s six months of women being trafficked and I can’t stomach that.
The plan from here is uncomplicated. I’ll pull back through the trees the way I came in, get in my SUV, and tail the van when it leaves the access road.
I put the camera to my face and click off a few more snaps of the last of the women going into the van.
That’s when the arm comes around my throat from behind, fast and hard, hooking under my jaw, and then I’m being dragged backward into a chest that feels as big as a refrigerator.
A second hand pins my right wrist against my own collarbone before I can get the camera up to swing it as a weapon. That doesn’t stop me from thrashing though, my heartbeat slamming against my rib cage with fear.
“What are you doing here?” The man’s voice is low, clearly Russian.
“Photography,” I manage to squeak out, hoping to sound like a dimwitted woman. “Night work. Long exposure. That old dock on the channel was perfect in the moonlight. That’s all.”
“But you took pictures of more than just the dock, no?” he inquires with menace.
And then he’s dragging me again. Through the brush, along a switchback and down onto the dock, where the other men turn in surprise.
“Who’s that, Sergei?” one of them asks, also with a Russian accent.
“A woman I find hiding in the bushes with a camera,” he says, and then releases his hold on me. He then shoves me hard in the back and I stumble forward several feet before I right myself.
One of the other men approaches me. “Do you have identification?” he demands.
“In my truck.”
“Where is truck?” he asks, his accent heavier with deeper rolling R’s.
“Up the access road, about a quarter mile.”
He smiles, and it’s not friendly. “Who do you work for?”
“Nobody. I’m freelance.”
“What is your name?”
“Sarah Klein. I’m just a photographer, I swear,” I say, real panic lacing my words. “I’m entering a nighttime photography contest. I was just photographing the dock.”
The men exchange glances.
“I mean… yeah, I saw the boat come up,” I babble, hoping something good pops out. “And yeah… the women, so I just assumed… hey, party boat. Know what I mean? I didn’t take pictures of that, though.”
Lame, Josie.
So lame.
The man pulls a gun from inside his jacket and it’s clear he doesn’t believe me. He grabs my arm and presses the barrel of his pistol into my lower back.
“Mikhail… we should not leave her in the channel,” the man says to the others. “Current goes south. Body might come up off Whidbey by morning.”
“Weight her,” one of them suggests.
I’m struck by the fact that they’re not whispering or lowering their voices. They’re talking about killing me like they’re discussing tomorrow’s forecast.
I’ve been a Jameson agent for only three months. Before that, I was an NSA analyst for six years. Prior to that, I was a graduate student. Before that, I was a kid taking apart computers in my father’s study and putting them back together while he timed me with a stopwatch. None of those previous lives nor the training I received in the NSA or at Jameson have prepared me for this very real scenario of standing on a dock in the dead of night while three men decide whether to weigh down my body before they put it in the water.
What prepared me is who my father is, and the small fact that very early he taught me a rule about being outnumbered.
The rule is don’t be there to have those odds realized.
I take it all in and get my analytical mind spinning. One man is six feet in front of me. Another eight feet to his left and looking at his phone screen. The one who caught me on the bluff is ten feet to the right, his gun holstered. The other men are at the van. The dock edge is four feet behind me and the water below is a twelve-foot drop into frigid, inky blackness.
The odds are not good, but they’re better than waiting for the bullet to my brain. I lash out with my leg, kicking one man to the anterior portion of his knee, causing it to buckle with an accompanying scream of pain.
I’m running before he hits the wooden boards of the deck.
Two long strides, Russian men swearing behind me, and I launch into the darkness, executing a clean dive into the water at full speed.
The cold debilitates me instantly, every single nerve ending in my body firing into a million points of pain. For the first few seconds under the surface, I literally cannot think what I should do.
Luckily, my training kicks in and I know I have to stay under as long as possible. I kick to swim deeper, ditching the camera looped around my neck. My first instinct is to move under the dock, but I dismiss it, kicking farther into the deep.
I hear vague pops of sound from above and while I can’t see anything, I know they’re shooting at me.
Please don’t hit me.
Please don’t hit me.
I kick my legs hard, sweeping my arms in wide pushing arcs to propel me farther.
My lungs are burning, I’m getting dizzy, but I keep myself under the water. I’m weighed down by my tactical pants. My boots are the heaviest.
And in fact, there comes the realization that they’re dragging me down, and I need to get to the surface before I black out.
It’s a Herculean effort, but I angle up and kick hard. I see nothing but black all around and have no clue how far down I am. I kick and kick and kick and then I’m sucking in cold air.
Even as I’m gasping, taking in the precious oxygen, I spin myself around toward the dock.
All the men stand at the end and peer into the darkness, and I realize with so much relief I almost start crying that they can’t see me.
I also realize… the current is pulling me farther away and my legs are like rubber trying to tread water.
I shed my jacket and work on my boots next. I keep going under every time I have to tug on the laces because I can’t kick to stay up. After several attempts, I get them both off and the relief to my numb muscles is immediate.
One of the men now has a flashlight, sweeping the water, but it can’t reach out this far. They’re shouting at each other.
“She has to come up.”
“She came up under the dock.”
“She did not come up under the dock. I was watching.”
“Get the boat.”
“Get the boat, get the boat—”
“We don’t have time. We need to go.”
Yes, please just fucking go.
I’m alone. I’m freezing. I cannot feel my fingers. I’m being pulled into open water in the dark.
I think about my father.
Not in any specific way. Just a flicker. The way he sits at the kitchen table with his coffee in the mornings now, alone, and I think I’m sorry I’m about to do this to you.
And then I hear it.
An engine, but it’s not coming from the boat at the dock.
It’s behind me… out in the channel. It sounds small and there are no lights.
I turn in circles in the water, small waves lapping at my chin. I can’t see anything.
It could be a fisherman.
It could be the Coast Guard.
It could be more Russians called in to look for me, and because I’m an analyst, I have to admit it’s the most likely answer.
And then the engine cuts and it’s nothing but silence except for the slap of waves against my face and my own ragged breathing.
I can’t see anything in the dark out there. I don’t know if the boat is twenty feet from me or eighty. I don’t know if whoever is on it is reaching for a radio or a rifle or nothing at all.

5 A Rescue That Changed Everything Stars! 🎧Audiobook Review🎧 This series just keeps getting better and better. This third book focuses on Josie McAdams an intelligence specialist for Jameson Force and Finn Marlowe a man of questionable ethics and how their lives change one dark night. This story starts off with a bang setting the tone for the entire book and I was enthralled from the get go Josie is rescued by Finn when she was where she definitely shouldn’t have been. Little did either of them know that this one night set in motion so many moving parts that had me on the edge of my seat because the intensity of the investigation that ensues as revelations are made and a chemistry that’s been burning between Josie and Finn explodes! The amazing Sean Masters and Erin Mallon bring this book to life. I felt every suspenseful and mysterious moment, the passion that Finn and Josie finally give in to, the secrecy of a mission that has consequences that trickle through the entire organization and a betrayal that I as shocked at. Ms. Bennett truly knows how to pick her narrators as they’re always spot on for her books. I will definitely be listening to and reading this book again as I’m sure I’ll find some nuances that I might’ve missed the first time through. I absolutely love books that give me something new with each read/listen.

The way this audiobook drew me in and didn't let me go! Josie gets in over her head and Finn saves her, but that should be the end of it. He's a smuggler and she works with law enforcement which should make them off-limits to each other. The way Finn and Josie show up for each other and don't let outside opinions deter them made me so happy. I loved these two together and adored how open they were with each other. Josie's co-workers/friends were lot more accepting of Finn than they thought they might be. And I loved how they could see she was happy and that was all that mattered to them. Finn was truly a good guy who had a past and did some things that could have gotten him arrested. I really enjoyed getting to know Finn's best friend and I hope he gets a book too. I can't tell you how much I truly enjoyed this book, and I just wish I had more I could binge listen to!

Code Name: Harbor was absolutely perfect! I loved Josie and Finn’s story from beginning to end. Josie is new to the Jameson Force, but she is fierce, determined, and definitely not afraid to take matters into her own hands. She’s on a mission to find women who are being kidnapped and sold, and following directions isn’t exactly her strong suit. That gets her into serious trouble when she’s nearly caught taking pictures at the docks. With her fighting spirit, she almost makes her escape, but ends up in the water—and that’s where Finn comes in. Finn has built his life around making sure he never returns to the life he knew as a child. He’s worked hard, worked smart, and sometimes done dangerous things to get where he is. When the opportunity arises to help Josie, he does—and quickly realizes there is something about her that feels like home. Their relationship moves quickly, but I loved watching them find their way to each other while danger continued to surround them. Finn is fiercely protective of Josie and will do whatever it takes to keep her safe, even when it means making difficult choices. I absolutely loved this story! And the audiobook was fantastic. Sean Masters and Erin Mallon did an amazing job bringing Finn and Josie to life. Their narration made an already great story even better. Definitely a 5-star listen for me!

🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧 I absolutely love when one of the team falls for someone that is not from their world and in this case from a totally wrong side of the tracks! Josie and Finn's story was such a good story. I loved how he saved her life on multiple occasions, but she really saved him, too in the end. Their story is narrated by Sean Masters & Erin Mallon. I love Sean's voice and he was a great voice choice for Finn. They give a great performance and really convey the emotions throughout the story. I could see where the end of the story was going so I wasn't really surprised at how it ended, but the ride was great! I loved the characters and this pairing was great! I'm so curious to see Finn on the straight and narrow in upcoming stories!

I am loving this series. The perfect mix of romance and suspense always keeps me happy and the Jameson Security team always brings it! This one features Josie, new to the team, and she goes against orders to see if she can get pictures of a trafficking trade. She gets caught and after getting free, is saved by an art smuggler. Finn is immediately taken with Josie. Smart, beautiful and willing to go the distance for what she believes in, he knows getting involved with her is not only dangerous since the traffickers are looking for her, but she could end him as well. But the two just cannot stay away from each other. She knows there more to Finn than he is saying. The questions are, will he be able to give her what she needs for the case and keep her safe? Will she be able to do her job and not give him up for his illegal activities? From the first chapter, it's exciting and the romance quickly sizzles. I am all in for this and Sawyer Bennett delivered! Sean Masters and Erin Mallon gave my ears hours of happiness as they told this story. Masters is Finn, protective, slowly understanding what life is all about and his voice delivers the danger and the passion. Mallon is Josie, determined, one not to be dismissed and totally falling in love. Each scene is voiced perfectly. I loved this listen, it could not have been cast better and should be a one click!

One of the best parts of reading romantic suspense is the “meet cutes” are often intense and let’s just say Josie got herself into quite the jam while on an “op” in pitch black dark of the night of the Salish Sea between Seattle and Canada and Finn and his captain were there to rescue her. She knew enough to not ask questions but that certainly didn’t mean she didn’t have them. She was one of the best NSA agents and a lead intelligence specialist for Jameson security force. That is actually what I loved most about Josie- she so very clearly is very smart. But underneath all of her training, intelligence she is still a woman that loves her father, her friends, wants to find love and will do what she can to protect others. And then there is Finn, who is actually very complicated. As readers we knew that Finn skirted the law; he was really a good guy- his family was his crew Marcus and Connie. The way he made the bulk of his money was maybe not legal but that came from years of fending for himself and having to do what he needed to do to survive while that doesn’t make it right- it certainly is a reason. Josie and Finn had immediate chemistry and while neither of them was expecting to find love on the water that night they couldn’t ignore their draw to one another. There was a lot working against these two between their jobs and some friends doubting their connection. And lets just say these two lit the pages on fire! The emotional level in this book was very high- the tension on the page was palpable. Bennett did such an amazing job ratcheting up the suspense and tension we could almost feel that the bad guys were becoming increasingly angry and anxious. That wasn’t the only tension- there was pressure from Finn’s crew because being in the crosshairs of the Russians was not the place to be. You know a book is amazing when you pull up maps while you listen so you can track where the action is happening. Erin Mallon and Sean Masters really did such a phenomenal job bringing Josie McAams and Finn Marlowe to life- so if you are an audiobook reader I cannot recommend listening to this one! Another high stakes hit from Sawyer Bennett and I cannot wait for what is next up in the Jameson Seattle series.

Code Name Harbor is book 2 in the Jameson Force Seattle series and follows cyber security expert, Josie, as she embarks on a journey of danger and love with art gallery owner, Finn. Josie is an only child. Her father is military intelligence and she grew up learning how to suss out information from various sources and determining what is real and what is not. She is a highly sought after cyber intelligence expert and has worked for the NSA. Finn is an only child and spent his teen years in system. He was rebellious and ended up in juvie. Typical young and dumb teenager. But he did not learn his lesson. Instead, he ended up doing time as an adult. He is not proud of that and swears to never go back. But has he really reformed his ways? While performing surveillance work for a potential crime, Josie is found by a security patrol. She is forced to drop her evidence in the bottom of the body of water and swim for her life. Lucky for her, maybe, there is another boat nearby. They pull her aboard and the owner works to warm her up while his captain gets them the heck out of dodge. Now Josie is not just a contractor to the FBI, she is a witness requiring protection. She has been debriefed by Cole, but failed to mention the name of her savior. She knows there is something else going on in his world that is probably not legal, so she only gives enough information to get by. But Cole is not dumb and he knows she is holding back information. Now that Finn knows Josie is in trouble because of what she saw, and that they know who she is, he has deemed himself her personal protection. It does not hurt that he is overly attracted to her. He knows she works for Jameson and that they could easily handle her security, but he is determined. Plus he gets side benefits. But Finn cannot hide who and what he is. He knows Josie has already run a background check on him. But he wants to be the one to tell her everything about his life. He owes her that much. After Finn tells her everything, Josie is not deterred from their relationship. She has fallen for him. But his past will come back to haunt them. There is a traitor in Finn's crew that will wreak havoc on him personally and professionally. Will they cost him everything, including the woman he loves and his own life? This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Josie did not like being caged and having her wings clipped. Finn worried that giving her a little freedom could cost them everything. Malik and Cole worried about Josie, period. Finn has finally found his person. But a friend of his, or someone who he thought was a just a friend, is jealous. She blames Josie for everything. Finn is not having it and puts her in her place. I felt bad for Connie, but what she did in response would have long term ramifications. I really liked the FBI agent that was working with Jameson on the case they were building. She had enough respect for Josie and Finn that she spoke to them personally about the potential plea deal. She also chose not to pursue him for his dalliances. Don't Ask. Don't Tell. From the first time I listened to him, Sean Masters became one of my absolute favorite male narrators. He has such a wide range of voice. I truly loved him as Finn and look forward to listening to more from him. Erin Mallon is always a joy to listen to. She becomes her character and you feel it in her narration.

Excellent romantic suspense! Loved both main characters and the story flowed really well. It kept me on the edge of my seat! Code Name: Harbor is book 2 in the Jameson Security, Seattle series by @sawyerbennett. Josie works for Jameson and is an information analyst. A mission runs afoul and she is saved by Finn who is a morally gray hero, a criminal with a code. He reminded me of Han Solo. Their worlds overlap as they work on a case and their insta attraction evolves into more. I loved the internal conflict of both characters wanting to bend their lives to include this new person while trying to reconcile what they feel is right. I was able to listen to the audiobook and the narration was excellent! Sean Masters and Erin Mallon did a fantastic job with their characters. Erin Mallon had me gripping the edges when all the intense action was going down! so good! rounded form 4.5 stars

**Audiobook Review** I have been waiting gor the next book in this series and I couldn’t wait to start it once his hit my account. “Code Name: Harbor” is a swoony, action packed and emotional opposites attract, forbidden romantic suspense that was a great addition to the series. Josie McAdams has built her career on rules and following her gut. And that includes going to the dock at night because she knows something bad is happening. Her gut is right and it’s almost her last mission until a handsome smuggler rescues her. Finn Marlowe walks the thin line between outlaw and survivor. And when he discovers the same network he uses for his business is also behind human trafficking, he knows he needs to step in. Josie and Finn form an unusual alliance and decide to work together to stop the traffickers. But as they spend time together, they have a chemistry neither can deny. Man, once I started this book I was hooked on Josie and Finn. I loved how this story started out and it only got better as we got deeper into the plot. Josie is smart, caring and I loved how her mind worked when she was on a case. She was passionate about working with Jameson and taking down the criminals. Finn is swoony, confident and was able to make something of himself after a tough upbringing. He’s a man who toes the line in between right and wrong but has a moral compass when it counts the most. They had great chemistry from the beginning and I loved them as a couple. They truly saw each other for who they were and supported each other even though the lines got blurry with Finn’s career. But they worked together to end the horrible thing that was being brought into Seattle. The action was nonstop and the last few chapters had me on the edge of my seat as I listened. The ending was perfect and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. Erin Mallon and Sea Masters narrated as Josie and Finn and they were amazing bringing this story to life. Erin brought the passionate and driven Josie alive perfectly. And I loved listening to Sean bring the smart and protective Finn to life.

4.25☆ Finn and Josie's story was fantastic! I love the setup to Finn and Josie meeting and the juxtaposition of their jobs. The suspense to the story was really good and had me interested through out. I really liked the chemistry and pull that Josie and Finn have with each other. I enjoyed whenever her father happened to drop into that too! I love Josie's determination to stop the Jameson target and how much it meant to her. I loved how Finn was determined to help keep her safe as best he could but not try to diminish her role at Jameson. I really liked this book and really love these Jameson books!

As they spend time together feelings come into play and lines are crossed but will Jamieson Force and the FBI believe what really happened……. I fell hard and fast for Finn and I want Josie in my corner but what took this book to another level was the forbidden romance story that has so much depth to it. I was drawn in from the first chapter and there was no putting down until the final page and even then I wanted more. Sean Masters and Erin Mallon did a great job bringing the characters and their story to life. They were spot on with the emotion, the passion and the banter that flows through this book.

Always great to be back in this world! Josie and Finn have quite an interesting story! This is a different take since she is the Security agent and he is on the shady side. Watching them mesh their lives together with those parameters was exciting to watch. I enjoyed the danger, suspense/drama and of course seeing the team! I listened to this on audio. Sean Masters and Erin Mallon did a great job and are easy to listen to.

This is the second book in the Jameson Force Seattle series, a romantic suspense. Josie and Finn’s story is entertaining and fast-paced, filled with danger, action, and twists and turns. Josie is an intelligence specialist for Jameson Force Seattle. She is smart, strong, and determined. Finn, an outlaw, is handsome, protective, and enigmatic. They are opposites-attract and they complement each other. I liked the tension, the chemistry, and the romance. The plot is well crafted and captivating. Erin Mallon and Sean Masters are perfect as Josie and Finn! They deliver an excellent narration, bringing these characters and their story to life. I enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to listening to the next book in the series.

Code Name: Harbor, book two in the Jameson Force Seattle series is the perfect blend of danger and romance and where the black and white sides become grey. Josie McAdams is new to Jameson and her job is to study analytics and follow patterns. When she goes out on her own she never expected to have her life in danger and she never expected to be saved and fall for Finn Marlowe who happens to make his living on the other side of the law. I loved the premise of this story and was completely engaged as Josie and Finn managed the danger and built a relationship at the same time. You have to read and find out for yourself to see how they dealt with the danger and made some life changing decisions. I also had the opportunity to listen to the audio version of this story and the narrators did an amazing job that absolutely added to my enjoyment of this book.

I listened to the audiobook alongside reading the ebook, and Erin Mallon and Sean Masters nailed it. The characters brought the story to life perfectly, the chemistry between them was everything I would expect from Josie and Finn. I loved it. I received advanced copies of both the ebook and the audiobook. This is my honest review.

This is one of those books that you can sit and read in one sitting and not fill any ounce of guilt. I had a few small job to achieve throughout my day, and I still managed to finish this before dinner. I feel the narrators had a part in that too. Sean Master and Erin Mallon were amazing with Finn and Josie, and I was hooked on their depictions from the first chapter. These Code Name books all have a special forces action happening within a romance and I think this particular story is one of my favourites from the whole Jameson Universe. It has the action that keeps you anticipating what's next and of course the romance. Maybe it was also that good and (not so) bad came together to eliminate evil and the good guys win that makes this well worth the read.

The opening scene grabs your attention immediately, and the story continues to hold it captive the entire time. Josie McAdams, an analyst and intelligence specialist for Jameson Force Seattle and is working on an assignment for the Feds who want to take down a human trafficking ring. Josie was supposed to head out to the docks with a partner, but he got pulled away and since the window of opportunity to get the intel was small, she breaks protocol and goes alone, and it almost cost her dearly, close to paying with her life. Finn Marlowe deals in fine art, and he obtains some of his pieces from the black market. That night he was in his boat near the docks when he saw that larger boat come in, and while he does not condone what they are doing, it is every man for himself in his world. He also saw what went down with the woman on the dock, not the ones they were transporting, but the one they caught taking photos. Josie fought her way out of their grasp, but did not think she was going to survive being in the cold water, being shot at, and luckily she got far enough away and someone was there to rescue her, Finn. The two bonded that night, despite giving little information about what they were doing by the docks. He helped her get to safety, but her safety was questionable because she may have gotten away from those men at the dock, but that does not mean they won’t be looking for her. Now she had to explain to her boss, Malik, exactly what happened, but she left out details to protect Finn. It was great watching the building of Josie and Finn’s relationship, learning their intriguing backstories, and continuing to see Jameson’s work on the case, a case that got even more complicated. There is never a dull moment in this book, and I loved all the layers of the story and how it all played out, with the perfect balance of drama, angst, mystery, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, and steamy romance. Sawyer Bennett, thank you for another amazing story and the wild and emotional rollercoaster ride. 🎧📚🎧 Erin Mallon and Sean Masters deliver an amazing performance voicing the characters and delivering a perfect portrayal of each. Mallon was a natural in Josie’s role, grasping every facet of her personality, from her vulnerabilities to her fierceness. Masters was just as amazing in Finn’s role, showcasing his personality perfectly. Both were fantastic at performing the roles of the side/secondary characters too. Their expressive delivery conveys all the characters’ emotions, making you feel them all. These two are a perfect pairing, with talents and voices that work well together, and an entertaining performance that captivates your attention throughout. .

4.5 Stars! I love this exciting and seductive series! Josie and Finn's forbidden romance is captivating, raw, and passionate. Josie McAdams is an intelligence specialist for Jameson Force Seattle. When she runs into trouble on a mission, she is rescued by a mysterious man. Finn Marlowe deals in art by day and contraband by night. He is captivated by the beautiful and intelligent woman he rescued, but that puts him and his team in danger. When Josie asks him to help with her case, he knows he needs to help her so he can keep her safe. Even though Josie and Finn are on opposite sides of the law, they can't ignore the fiery pull between them. As they get closer, and their hearts become involved, will they be able to find a future together? When their worlds collide, and their lives are in danger, will they be able to keep each other safe? This story is so thrilling and breathtaking and my heart was pounding as I feared for their safety at times. I loved Josie and Finn together, they were opposites who made each other whole, and their chemistry is off the charts. Of course the whole Jameson family are essential to this story being over protective and supportive, but having fun together as well. I am enjoying getting to know this new Jameson Force Security team and I can't wait for their next adventure! The narration by Erin Mallon and Sean Masters was flawless. They were so perfectly cast to bring Josie and Finn to life with all their convictions, courage, vulnerabilities, tenderness and passion. Their inflections, and timing were spot on and I was riveted throughout. They made this already exhilarating story even better!

Romantic suspense at it”s finest! This book was positively explosive and I was on the edge of seat so many times!so much action! So much romance! I absolutely loved it! The narration from Sean Masters as Finn and Erin Mallon as Josie was amazing as always!! This is such a great story written by Sawyer Bennett! I love this series! I fell in love with Finn so fast! Didn’t matter what he did for a living to me! And Josie is so awesome I loved how she fought for what they could be and have together despite the complication of their opposite careers. I love them both and they are perfect together and have each others backs whole heartedly. The way they navigate the very delicate issues within their budding relationship and how that turns into a deep love that means more than anything else was exactly what I hoped for. I was intrigued and invested from the jump and never lost that throughout their story. I absolutely loved this book reading it but highly recommend listening to these incredible narrators bring this author’s mighty words to life!!
